Spanish language courses
My Spanish tuition is suited to both native English speakers and non-natives who have a good command of English. For those more able Spanish speakers - maybe Expats who would like to improve their spoken Spanish - and for those who would like to go into a little more depth with some emphasis on verb formation and grammar, the Higher Intermediate course may be of interest.
I offer three different courses:
-
Beginners
This level will appeal to those who are starting out on their Spanish journey with just a few phrases or maybe just a few words in Spanish.
-
Lower intermediates
This level will appeal to those who may have been learning Spanish through an app such as Duolingo or who have mastered some basic Spanish.
-
Higher intermediates
This level will appeal to those who are confident to have a conversation in Spanish and will concentrate a bit more on the grammar and verb formations.
I will ask you to do a short quiz to gauge your ability in Spanish before signing up so that I can ensure that you won’t be out of your comfort zone or bored because the material is too simplistic. I will never mix the abilities as I believe you will have a far better learning experience if you are all on about the same level. Maximum of 8 people at any given time. A minimum of 6 people needed for the course to go ahead.
What to expect
My courses start on Sunday night with a welcome drink and an explanation of the week’s timetable.
After a communal continental breakfast with local produce, our lessons will start at 09.30 and continue to 13.00 with a 20 minute coffee break in the middle. After that you’ll be free to wander into the beautiful village of Grazalema and put your Spanish to good use to order some lunch in a number of different restaurants and bars. We'll reconvene for 1.5 hours at 15.15 till 16.45 to consolidate what we have learnt that day.
We’ll do the same thing again on Tuesday and then on Wednesday, your free day, you’ll have a chance to take part in one of the different activities that I offer or do your own thing and have a wander round the area or visit some of the other beautiful villages in the locality. Hopefully you’ll come back invigorated and ready to talk about your experiences of the previous day in Spanish and to polish off the phrases that you found tricky whilst out and about.
On Friday we will finish at 14.00 and you will be free to go on your way, hopefully confident in your newly acquired vocabulary and ability to understand and speak Spanish.
